Join us for an exciting solo concert by acclaimed pianist/composer Gregory Taboloff as he debuts his piano Sonata inspired by the timeless tale of Romeo and Juliet. Hear the passion, conflict and tragic pathos of these star-crossed lovers. Plus showcasing masterworks by Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Schubert and more Taboloff. An international pianist and storyteller, Taboloff competed at the Tchaikovsky and Queen Elisabeth competitions in Moscow and Brussels, performed for dignitaries such as English Prime Minister Edward Heath and Richard Dreyfus, debuted at Carnegie Hall with rave reviews from NY Times critic Tim Page. He premiered an earlier neo-romantic work, his 3-movement Piano Concerto “The Mystic” at Walnut Creek Lesher for the Arts and at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco, garnering glowing reviews. SF Bay Area music critic Joseph Gold lauded his concerto with praise, “Give me (more) Taboloff”, and “Bravos greet (his) world premiere…before a wildly enthusiastic audience”, says Harriet Ainsworth of the East Bay Times.
